“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” [Isaiah 40:30-31 NIV]
Just in case you didn’t know, I have a very strong creative streak. If I can’t find an outlet for it, I find myself frustrated. The problem is, without daily fellowship with my Heavenly Father, I quickly find myself drained of inspiration as well. It’s like all that creativity begins to dry up–I get weary.
Most artists have a muse–the thing that inspires them to paint, or sing, or sculpt. For me, that muse is Christ. But the thing is, I have to nurture that special time with Him on a daily basis to continually feel His inspiration flowing through me. I need to read the Scriptures, I need to pray, and I need to commune with Him. Then, as the verse above depicts, I feel like I can soar in my mind, and the creativity flows unhindered.
So, my encouragement for you today is this: if you are feeling a little dried up and weary, spend some time in meditation on the Lord and His goodness. It will change your whole view-point to that of an eagle–your vision becomes broader. Let Him be your muse. 🙂
