Be patient, God hasn’t finished with me yet.”
I love this little quote. Some don’t like it, thinking it is an excuse for our failings. But, I look at it differently. I am thankful that God is still working in me, that He hasn’t given up on me.
God sent Jesus to the cross, to take the punishment for our sins. We didn’t deserve such grace – not in the smallest iota. And yet He did it … because He loves us. But He didn’t stop there.
He could have set us free and then left us to struggle through life on our own, battling against temptation, suffering through grief and loss, surviving illnesses, dealing with difficult people. He could have. He already gave up His only Son. Wasn’t that enough?
No. His love compels Him to be involved beyond the cross. He is there in our every need. He gives us strength through hardship, hope in the midst of darkness, comfort through grief. He teaches us, moulds us, helps us grow and become the best we can be. On top of all that He wants to bless us and give us abundant life, deep joy and peace that passes all understanding.
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” [2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV]
I for one, am grateful He isn’t finished with me! Thank you Lord for Your presence in my life.
Something to think about: In what way have you been conscious of the Lord’s presence or blessing in the last week?
Me too. Heaven help me if He had! Great thing to be grateful for 🙂
Amen Paula. It really makes me smile to think that we’re worth more than just saving to Him. 🙂
