For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you. [Psalm 139:13-18 NIV]
This is one of my favourite passages in the Bible. How could the Almighty God, creator of the universe, care about little old me? Well, I learned a long time ago that He just did. He knew me before I was born. He created me, picked out my character traits and formed me. He knew what I would like and the path I would choose in life. It was all there the day I was conceived.
If I ever doubted that my life has a purpose, I only need to look at some of my baby photos. I don’t believe that chance has brought me to where I am today – I believe it was innate in me, put there by my Creator with all His love, before I was born. (Yes these are pics of me, and now I am a writer and musician.)
And He treats you with the same intimate concern, too. He has a plan and a purpose for your life. You need never think your life is meaningless. Just open up to Him and hear Him calling you.
I’m going a little ‘ga-ga’ over Baby Amanda at her typewriter!!
Too cute 🙂
Hee hee. It is a cute photo isn’t it? 🙂
