Romancing The Rock

“‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’” [Revelation 1:8 NIV]

Our God is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Everywhere we go, He has already been. Everything we do, He has already seen. Everything we say, He has already heard. We cannot surprise Him and we cannot shock Him. He knows.

He was there the day we were conceived, the day we entered this world and He will be there the day we depart into the hereafter. He goes before us and He walks behind us. He hems us in and holds us in the palm of His hands. He is with us every step, every breath of the way.

It doesn’t matter that we are dust, that we are less than nothing on the scale of His majesty and glory. He still values us above all. Everything He does, He does for us, for our good, for our best.

All we have to do is open our eyes and see His presence around us. Open our ears and hear His voice calling, drawing. Open our hearts and feel His love fill us up. He completely, utterly surrounds us. Amen.
