Power of our Testimony

“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” [Revelations 12:11 NIV]

Our testimony is a powerful thing. It doesn’t matter if you were raised in a Christian home and never experienced hardship like others do, or whether you have the most amazing story of a turned around life you could imagine, each one is powerful.

I once thought my own testimony was boring and uneventful, but in fact, God’s grace kept me from walking a path where I would have collected some serious baggage. That is not so boring after all — it is a powerful testament to the grace of God, just as much as a life saved from drugs and crime can claim. The same grace. The same miracle.

And we must always keep our testimony – what the Lord has done for us — fresh in our minds. When the enemy comes with his lies, trying to tell us that we’re not good enough, or that we’re unloveable, or even with attacks of illness or difficult circumstances — that’s when we need to remember our testimony. We need to be able to look that enemy in the eye and say, ‘But God …’ We can tell him the truth of what we know according to the way the Lord has provided, healed, delivered, loved us in the past. And as the Lord never changes, we can be sure He will do so again. And again.

  1. ‘I would have collected some serious baggage. That is not so boring after all — it is a powerful testament to the grace of God.’

That truly IS a powerful affirmation to remember when the enemy comes calling. God’s grace has held me back from awful baggage claiming too. And I don’t ever want to forget it.

    Thanks for sharing. xx

    • I am sooooo grateful that I have been spared the baggage treadmill (on a large scale anyway). You and I and others like us, live in a level of freedom many others still search for. Praise God for His awesome grace! 🙂
