is Introducing

( Even Before Publishers Oct 2012)

By Rose Dee

About the Book:
Resolution Island is a safe haven for Anika Demeur – a chance to fulfil dreams, find her place in the world, and a new life for her and young son, Kye. But her dreams of a future are shattered when her son’s security is challenged, and the rich and privileged Texan, Nate Hollingsworth sails into the bay. Now Ani must not only fight for her son, but also a growing attraction she has to the one type of man she loathes.

Nate is on a mission – to fulfill his mother’s last wish, and change his life. Dropping anchor in the idyllic Resolution harbor, he didn’t anticipate becoming involved in illegal fishing, a murder, or an unexpected attraction to the most exasperating woman he has ever met.

The Australian tropical Island, Resolution, sets the scene again for adventures, dreams, and new beginnings. A New Resolution is the final book in the ‘Resolution’ trilogy, following Back to Resolution and Beyond Resolution.

About the Author:
Rose Dee was born in Ingham, North Queensland, Australia. Her childhood experiences growing up in a small beach community would later provide inspiration for her first novel. Rose, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, decided to try her hand at writing two years ago. The result of that attempt is her first novel, Back to Resolution. Her novels are inspired by the love of her coastal home and desire to produce exciting and contemporary stories of faith for women. Rose’s other releases include Beyond Resolution – the second book in the ‘Resolution’ series. And A New Resolution the final book in the series. Rose has also co-written a novel in conjunction with three other outstanding Australian Authors: The Greenfield Legacy. Rose resides in Mackay, North Queensland with her husband, young son, and mischievous pup, Noodle.

Amanda’s Review:

As with the previous novels in the Resolution Series, I greately enjoyed this final episode. It was great to see the characters from previous novels make their appearances without detracting from Nate, Anika and Kye’s story. I always love a great romance with a bit of mystery thrown in to keep me turning the pages, and A New Resolution didn’t let me down.

Rose doesn’t hide the realities of life, including its tempations, fromher writing, and I love that raw honesty that comes through. Especially the pull of the physical versus the choice to do what is right. This came through even in Anika’s dealing with Kye’s reaction to the wrong around him. And of course, there is the tropical setting of North Queensland, which makes you feel like you are on a warm summer holiday.

I congratulate Rose on winning the CAELB Award for Fiction for this novel. It is well worth it. I recommend A New Resolution to all those who love a strong romance with something extra.

Four Authors. One Novel.

Left to right: Rose, Meredith, Paula, Amanda

Last weekend I had the privilege of meeting together with other writers from all over Australia and New Zealand as well for The Word Writers Getaway — a Christian writers conference. We spent time learning, getting to know each other in fellowship, discovering one another’s books and a few new books were launched. One of those was a collaborative novel I have been involved with — The Greenfield Legacy — by Meredith Resce, Rose Dee, Paula Vince and myself.

The whole experience of writing a novel with three other authors was a new and thrilling one. And even better, to see the finished product at the Getaway along with the other three women. Together, we had a blast in pre-release promotion — filming interviews, signing books and answering questions in a special plenary session where we sat on the stage as a panel.

This novel is not due to be officially released for another two weeks yet, but we are proud of what we have accomplished and there is a real buzz of anticipation towards its release. Through contacts that Meredith has, we are also proud to show our new book trailer.

For more information about The Greenfield Legacy, go to Light the Dark or Amazon.

Rose Dee – Beyond Resolution

From the Back Cover:

Samara lives a life filled with fear. After being discarded and beaten by her drug dealing boyfriend, she takes one easy out after another. Her choices led her down the road of self-destruction, into the degrading world of stripping and a life spent looking over her shoulder. Until an encounter with a stranger on a Kings Cross Street provides the catalyst for a life changing event that leads her back home.

Resolution is the last place in the world Jed wants to be. One drastic decision has led him to the Island resort and back into strained contact with his brother, Flynn. When the one person he despises with a passion appears in the flesh, Jed must search his heart for a way to conquer the feelings he still harbours.

From the bright lights of Sydney to the blue waters of Resolution Island, Beyond Resolution is a story that provides a window into the joy of forgiveness, trust and peace.

Amanda’s Review:

Sometimes, it is our mistakes that drive us toward the loving embrace of God. That is what I took away from the second instalment of the Resolution Series. Once again Rose Dee kept me enthralled throughout as I turned the pages, always wondering what would happen next. More than just a romance, this story had a little mystery and suspense added to give it that something special that I really enjoy.

And again Rose brings the environment to life, from the streets of Sydney to the North Queensland coast, you feel like you’re right there with the characters. I recommend this novel to all lovers of contemporary romance. I look forward to the third novel in this series.

A Chance to Daydream

Who would like a holiday in a tropical paradise? Perhaps I should rephrase that — who wouldn’t?!

Fellow author, Rose Dee, has just released her second novel, Beyond Resolution, the second in her Resolution Series. To celebrate she has teamed together with Daydream Island Resort and Spa and Koorong Bookstores, to bring an awesome promotion with a chance to win two nights accommodation plus a few extras.

All you need to do to go in the draw is buy her new novel, or one of the other Australian books listed. It’s that easy. And with Mother’s Day coming up, now is the perfect time to purchase them. If you don’t want to read these novels for yourself, chances are you know someone who does.

Rose Dee – Insight

Rather than offer Rose Dee a standard interview, I asked her to share part of her life with us – either a story about how she met her partner, a story about how she became a Christian, or a story of heritage from her family’s past. Rose offered an interesting story about her grandfather. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

What might have been …

I was recently reminded of this interesting anecdote from my family history. It is the story of the friendship between my grandfather (Gerald Venables) and Sir Arthur Fadden (who was the Prime Minister briefly in 1941). The story goes like this:

Arty wanted my grandfather to go into politics. According to all accounts, this was a very appealing prospect to Gerry Venables. He was an entrepreneurial business man, and the thought of national service appealed to his learned mind. Arty offered him a ‘sure’ seat in New South Wales. Gerry was thrilled. However, he had one stumbling block. His wife Nellie was determined not to go. With seven children to raise, she refused to pack up her life and trek south. Gerry’s dreams of political service were squashed in one foul, female swoop. Instead his legacy lies in the family he reared in Ingham, North Queensland.

This story made me think a lot about history. All the technicalities, dates of births, deaths, and marriages don’t come down to specific happenings; they all come down to people. I am very pleased that my grandmother was determined to thwart my grandfather’s plans. Chances are I may not be here if she hadn’t. But it reminded me that it is people, their lives, and the decisions they made that make up history. Not a timeline of dates and specifics from textbooks and family trees.

That’s why I love reading historic novels. The best ones aren’t about historic events, but about people and the lives they led. Okay, so I write contemporary fiction, but I do love a good historic novel as well. Please support our Aussie historic writers. They do a great job of converting these known events into engaging tales of lives, loves, and losses.

Thanks Rose, for sharing this story with us. Rose’s next release, another in the Resolution series, is due for release in April this year. Keep an eye out for it! For now, here is the back cover blurb:

Rose Dee – Back to Resolution

From the Back Cover:

Bay Anders is lost. She enjoys every privilege a wealthy upbringing affords, but the void in her soul refuses to be filled. Her mother’s dying revelation drives Bay to the brink of self destruction, before a move to Australia changes everything. She embarks upon a search for her father that leads her to his island home, into a hazardous melting pot of hostile locals and a mystery – her father’s disappearance. The only person who can help her is a strong, self-assured and intensely magnetic man. Bay must fight an overwhelming attraction to stay focused on her goal.

Flynn McKenna is hiding from the world. A past filled with mistakes drove him to withdraw from society and live in seclusion. But the arrival of a woman he cannot avoid shatters his solitary existence. As the search for Bay’s father unites them, can he resist his desire for her?

Amanda’s Review:

Back to Resolution is as colourful and tropical as its cover. Rose has portrayed the North Queensland coast so vividly it took me back to my childhood days when I holidayed there – from the lush green Daintree forest, to the beaches, coral reefs and islands further south on the coast. And that was just the setting.

This book had all the elements I need to make me forget where I am and take me away into the story-world. Great characters, a touch of mystery, and of course, romance. The message of faith is woven in naturally as part of Bay’s journey to finding her father. The tension and conflict between Bay and Flynn, added to the question over her father’s disappearance, kept me turning the pages late into the night.

If you love contemporary romance with real, down-to-earth characters, then you will love Back to Resolution. I am looking forward to Rose’s second book in this series – Beyond Resolution – due for release in April 2012.
